"Well I was skeptical about this product, but after trying it all I can say is WOW!!! It goes on easy and instantly starts with a high shine. No effort involved just a drop on a cloth turn the lathe on touch the wood and put a little pressure on it as it turns and presto you have a high gloss shine."
"Made a few of the football pens for customers with great results. My only issue is there has been a couple of small imperfections in the finish of the components in the kit. Nothing that could not be overcome mind you."
"I've made 3, have actually not sold any yet. The price of the kit coupled with the need to use 4(*) blanks raises the profitable price beyond what most cooks in my area want to pay for measuring spoons! I made a sample set and carried it around for about 3 months then pulled it from my samples and hung it above my sink in my kitchen where I've used it many times. 2nd set I made as a Xmas gift to a co-worker grad of University of Texas and used Burnt Orange and White blanks (2 each) cut each in half and cut the tubes of the kit down to 2 + 3/8ths (trim room) which made the materials price at about $40 the kit size of the tubes is 3.25", for a measuring spoon you don't need that long of a handle for most uses - they came out nice! Made a set for my new Daughter N law, with Tiger wood blanks, actually burned through twice as many blanks as needed because I was forcing the 7mm bit through the wood and the bit wandered from center to one corner thus making a bad drill. Of the eight 4 were usable."
"It mounts well on my 1 inch by 8 tpi. So I didn't need the insert. This chuck is straight walled so it doesn't use a tapered or dovetailed gripping surface like other chucks.I haven't tried all of the attachments yet but it seems sturdy and well made. I turned a cedar bowl on it with no major issues and it did a great job."
