"I use these to laminate, what I call, an Italian Racing Flag pen. Using the Gear Shift pen hardware, I laminate a piece (approx. 3/4") of solid green to an equal sized piece of black & white blank, then laminate those to a piece of solid red to create an Italian flag with the black & white blank as the white bar. Very effective & popular! I have to admit that I thought of this as a way to salvage a shattered blank. It is best to shape it round by cutting off the corners with a saw & doing most of the work with sand paper. I still recommend it, with some slight reservations, as a perfect match to the Gear Shift pen."
"I made a few of the Lever Action Rifle Kits yesterday. Made my own stock from (Rosewood)longer so it looks more in proportion to the rifle.
I machined a template from a piece of steel to look just like the butt end of the receiver. I sanded my gun stock flush with the template I made & it fit perfect.
I bought 5 of these kits & the scope fell off of the receiver on 2 of them. The scopes are glued on with epoxy & they are very fragile. I think this is going to be a problem???"
"I bought this blank to use on a Copper Bolt Action Pen. I was looking for an alternative to the Red/Black Camo. Surprisingly it was an amazing fit to this pen finish. I've received lots of compliments.
This material is a little harder, so definite sharp tools required.
Sands and finishes to a great shine."
"My real job, right now, is that I manage the cashiers at a restaurant supply store. So I spend all day scribbling on receipts to make sure everything is paid for. I am known as the pen guy because I carry one of my hand made pens with me. My boss had asked for a pen for his birthday and so I wanted to make him a pen that was usable in our environment but still nice. I had seen these at our local pen-turners guild meeting and thought I would give them a try. I went with the starter pack to get the bushing and I wanted to make myself one of these to see how I liked them. Needless to say these pen have performed better than I could have hoped. They have a smooth click that is quiet in use. The Parker refill offers more options then the cross refills do. I will add these to my standard inventory as the one I sold sold quick and easy to someone I showed."
