"Very easy to put together and a very fast seller"
"I have been turning deer antler for these pens and matched them up with the 30 Caliber Letter Opener and the customers love them! The antler is a bit tricky drilling and you have to really be on your game to work with it, but it is so worth it."
"This kit is good for a beginner since it includes everything you need minus blank material. I used a Hobble Creek Craftsman Embossed Copper Foil as a blank for the gold kit. It came out very nice. I gave it to a co-worker as a gift. He really appreciated it."
"I have made a couple dozen bolt action pens in the last couple of months and I find it difficult to keep them in stock. The pens themselves are great, but the bushings have rounded shoulders making it difficult to get a clean edge to the pen barrel. I'm having a custom set of bushings made out of HSS by a customer's dad who's a machinist. I've learned how to accomodate the rounded shoulders on the PSI bushings until then. I've also told them about it on the phone & via email.
Technically there's nothing wrong with the drill bit except it's not a brad point, and that's what you really want so it doesn't wander when drilling undersized, tropical hardwood, or punky blanks. I threw it into my spare drill bit box and it'll eventually get used for something other than making pens. Get yourself a good brad point bit instead.
Since you have to get the bushings to make the kits, and you might need the 3/8" bit, this isn't a bad price for a three pen kit since it's less than three kits & the bushings. If you already have a brad point bit, you're probably better off just ordering the bushings and several of the kits. FWIW, gun metal kits out sell chrome & gold together by about 3:1 for some reason. I always order twice as many gun metal kits as I think I need and always end up needing more. Chrome & gold both sell, but not as quickly as the gun metal."
"Straight forward kit. Quality components. Assembly without any hitches. Appears to be of good quality and of easy use for the end-user. The pens made from the kit were donated to a charity fundraiser."
