Great chuck...Great dealI ordered my chuck on a Sunday. It arrived the following Friday. I mounted it to my lathe. It runs straight and true. I can't believe that this great chuck only cost $90. I am completely thrilled with the quality. Thank you Penn State.

Very Good!!I got this for my husband...He uses it all the time! He says it works great for all his projects...He would totally recommend this to a friend!

Love itI have used two of the three jaw sets I received with the chuck. After a couple of tries I got it to work perfectly. I have been wanting a chuck for awhile and this one is perfect for everything I wanted it for.

GREAT piece of equipmentI purchased the Utility Grip Lathe Chuck when I bought a 12" Swing Variable Speed Turncrafter Commander lathe. I turn everyday and have used it 19 out of 20 days for the last few months. It's easy to use. It firmly grips the tenon. The Jumbo Flat Jaws allow me to turn the perfect bottoms and lids. I have turned bowls, vases, flowers, boxes, etc. It's is definitely a prize for the price!

Excellent ValueThe PSI Utility Grip 4 Jaw Chrome Lathe Chuck System is an excellent value. I did a good deal of reading and research on chucks before I placed my order, and decided the features and functionality of this chuck, when compared to the price, were worth taking the chance. I'm glad I did! I have an indexing lathe (Delta 46-460), so mounting the blank and tightening the jaws can be done with one Tommy bar. I have used it to hold some pretty marginal blanks (including a piece of birch that was pretty far along in the deterioration and spalting process) with no problem whatsoever. The jumbo jaws are great for working the bottoms of bowls. I also like the beefier screw chuck. Other chucks I have used offer a much smaller screw chuck, with smaller threads. The screw chuck provided with this system has a larger diameter and beefier threads, which provides more holding power.

Really a great chuck!Being tired of swapping jaws around so much on my Barracuda 2 T/N, I figured I would try a lower cost chuck to dedicate a set of jaws to and eliminate that time consuming step. I will say I am very, very glad I did! There is not a whole lot of difference once the work is mounted and spinning between this and my other chucks, it holds and works just as well. I have never had any issue with losing work from it or work not centering properly, even after removing and replacing the work-piece several times. If you don't want to drop big $$$ on a chuck, this is a GREAT way to go. Low cost and great performance, what else do you really need? A quick tip: if your lathe indexes or has a spindle lock, just lock the spindle when tightening work in and you only need one Tommy bar, which makes this step much easier!

Mine is pretty good. This chuck will allow you to advance into other areas with your lathe as long as you understand the limitations. The Tommy handles for example are a little tricky at first but if you keep safety in mind at all times you'll quickly figure it out. Regarding the Jacobs jaws, you can get cap screws of various lengths and wrap them with lengths of fuel line to make buttons (bowl holders) any length you need. When turning the foot on bowls I wrap the buttons and top edge of the bowl with blue painters tape to keep from marking the surface. The only real problem I have encountered is 2 of the small screws that hold the jaws to the chuck have stripped the allen key holes so I cut a slot in the top with a dremel and use a flat screw driver on them but I need to try to get more screws for spares. Not a bad deal, I recommend.

Love itExcellent product for the beginner turner (like me). I will be buying a second one so I don't have to keep changing the jaws for turning bowls. Wish I had a third hand though when removing the project from the jaws, it's a little awkward. Very pleased.

Great BuyI have used this chuck to make bowls and am very pleased with it. My buddy has a Barracuda chuck and we can't tell a difference in performance. Using the levers to tighten it isn't a big deal and with the FREE 8" Jumbo Jaws this is a GREAT deal.

AwesomeWhat a great deal to get the extra set. Thank you again PSI.
