Run away

Bought this item because of the great reviews. The one I received has so much run out that it is ridiculous. You can see the chuck wobble, no need to dig out the dial indicator. Put it on a Barracuda 2 chuck, that has some run out itself. Between the two I ought to get some interesting off center spindles...

Great quality

The adapter fits and preforms outstanding. I have found no run out. I repeat no run out. The best part is the quality at half the price of others on the market.

Excellent Quality at a Very Good Price

I upgraded to a DVR XP and of course changed my spindle size, so it was time for a few adapters. I paid twice as much for a similar adapter from my local woodworkers store (I won't mention names but is starts with a W and ends with T). Total run out and would not run true to save your life. So then I bought two of these adapters from PSI and they run 99.99% true. I've put a ton of bowls to the test and they hold up beautifully. I haven't purchased a single item from PSI that I have been less than satisfied with. Keep up the great work!

Great service

When I ordered this adapter online I put in the wrong cc #. They called me to verify and while on the phone I double checked to see if I had ordered the correct adapter - I hadn't. They corrected my mistake and actually gave me an instant credit toward my purchase. Wow, you don't expect that kind of service anymore. I'll be ordering from PSI again and again.

This appears to be a well made durable adapter. The price is reasonable and lower than most. I have not tested for run out yet.

Does just what it says...good finish, good quality

Big, solid and heavy

This adapter is top quality, useful and does the job intended. It runs true and is heavy and solid. Goes on and off easily although it could use a hole for a bar to remove since I don't own a wrench (except a pipe wrench which would burr it up) big enough to get it off. I bought it to adapt a Barracuda to my 1.25x8 Jet spindle. I installed in in the chuck with locktite and use a nylon washer on the spindle so it works great. I think Penn stocks these in more sizes than they list so if you need an adapter call them before giving up.

Spindle adapter

I have used the spindle adapter and it is a benefit because it allows me to use some of the accessories that I had with my old lathe which had a 1" x 8 tpi thread. I would make a sugggestion, however. I am left handed and, therefore, a set screw would be very beneficial on the adapter to keep from loosening it while it is in reverse.
