Making Bottle Stoppers Easily

Many people by now realize that this bottle stopper is a hit. Getting the stopper kit was the second best thing I ever ordered. The special mandrel, and drill bit, allow me to screw on my wood blanks easily. The only problem is that the bottle stopper screw is too large for this tapped hole, and we have to enlarge it.

This kit was easy to make and seals very well for bottles that lay on their sides when opened. I like that it has stainless steel for it's metal parts and the threaded parts fit well. The silicon seals compressed tightly and smoothly. Another plus with me was the low profile of the overall stopper. All this at an affordable price.

I found this to be an amazing bottle stopper, they sell very fast. The perfect seal seams to be a great marketing tool. I found it was best to use the PSI bottle stopper mandrel as a tap, by putting some beeswax onto the threads then threading it in and out a number of times. Then to make the assembly easy I went to the hardware store with the metal parts of the stopper and found a SS machine bolt that fit right into where the neoprene rings and the ling bolt go. Thread that bolt in the you can use a wrench to just thread the stopper into the wood or what ever material you use. The only thing I didn't like was I found out if your hands are dirty the white silicone and neoprene picks up dirt or whatever really easy.

It's an okay bottle stopper. I prefer it over the other models. I found it a bit pricy in comparison to other kits though.

It works well and is easy to assemble onto the wood. Displaying this stopper is not as dramatic as the chrome ones, but nevertheless it's a practical and functional stopper.
