A Customer Favorite

I have turned about 10 of these now and always get rave reviews from my customers. They love the feel and the way it glides when it writes.

What a pen.

I have been buying different styles of pens from Penn State for several months now and of all that I have made -- the Polaris is my favorite. It is a well constructed pen, I like the weight and shape. There may be another pen out there that might compete with the Polaris but so far I have not found it.

The Polaris pen kit is simple to turn and assemble and looks outstanding. This pen kit allows the blank to be the focal point and using premium blanks really shows these off to their best advantage. The variety of finishes available allows for a good mix of premium pens without looking redundant on display.

Clear directions and well made parts make this pen a big hit. Made 2 pens so far and the bushings performed exactly as expected. Excellent for first time pen crafters.

Good kit, but...

I have made several Polaris kits and the inferior Atlas. I like the Polaris because the couplers are thicker and stronger than the couplers found in the Atlas kits. On the whole though the pen doesn't hold up really well, but ladies like them and so they sell. Two of the Polaris kits that came with this order had nicks on the nibs. The rest of the kits were fine, and so I figured those just slipped past quality control. I don't plan on making any more Polaris kits (or Atlas) unless a customer requests them.

Superb Writing Instrument!

I purchased a 3/8" Blue Glass Fiber Pen Blank for the express purpose of making this pen. The results were phenomenal! I'll be making many more of these to sell!

These are by far the most popular pens with men. They have a heft and feel that is superior to most pens I have used. They are easy to make and are well received by recipients.

Great Stylish Pen

I made 10 of these this summer. Men and women like them as well as other pens. The twist mechanism is smooth and impressive. I recently made one with wood from a lilac tree. Stunning!
