Bad instructions and defective lower cap

The instructions that came with the kit are apparently old as I see the downloadable instructions show the correct hardware. Also, the little flower enblem on the lower cap popped off. I'm hoping a couple drops of CA will take care of it. Might try another in the future but not anytime soon.

My method of turning pens has removed the drill press from the steps necessary. I use the Midi chuck and drill chuck which gives the advantage of turning the blank round and parting off at the exact measured length needed. I decided to leave the parts long so that I could use the sleeves. Everything worked well. The pen turned out very impressive with the sculpted features and regal quality. Instructions, Clear as mud.

Your instructions could definitely use an upgrade. As I see it now, you either did not include all parts of the kit, or there is something about the kit that I'm not understanding. Where is the nib end of my kit??? Is that the thing that is squished into a black plastic sleeve, that was neither mentioned or wants to come off?? Or is that the center band assy?? In my view it looks like the nib end got slammed into the center band and doesn't want to come loose. Toss us some actual pictures of the kit so we can actually see what we are supposed to have here. Thanks

Great pen horrible accessories

The pen kit is great but the Free accessories are junk, buy yourself good bits or you will ruin enough blanks to pay for them.

A complete Pen Kit

I think you have come up with a winner. Including all the tooling necessary to complete this pen kit (bushings, drill bits, and squaring sleeves)and a pen kit for the price of a single pen kit makes for a good buy. The pens I've made have turned out beautiful and the starter kit concept has prompted me to try other kits. Keep it up.

Outstanding pen kit. The only negative is that the cap cannot be placed on the pen while writing.

I've always wanted to turn a high-end pen. The starter kit allowed me to do just that at the price of the pen kit alone! I sell pens online and wasn't sure if this would sell. It actually sold quickly. This is a very heavy pen. The kit comes in a box rather than a bag and the hardware is very solid.
