4 out of 54 out of 54 out of 54 out of 54 out of 5 Not bad for the money

I purchased the 1/2" bowl gouge but I missed that the Benj. Best size is based on the tool diameter of 1/2" and now with my Sorby 3/8" have two the same. I will use different grinds so will use them both. Tool finish is not bad but was rusted under the protective tip coating. A good polish all around cleared that up.

I purchased one of these and was very impressed by the quality and price. It is nicely made and heavy HSS. Nice ash handle. The picture here doesn't do it any justice. It is sharpened to a swept back grind and done right which it doesn't look like here. I have an English (Sheffield) 3/8" bowl gouge which I paid 3 times more for on sale. This one is every bit as nice. It's not just for faceplate work, of course.
