Blank was purple and white. Came out nice but you can see the tube threw the white. If it would have been the color on the picture you would not see the tube.DPW

The blanks I got were nothing like the one pictured. They were very brittle, half of one blank just disintegrated while I was rounding it. I turned the other blank, but slowly, and noticed a lot of chips and a very rough surface. I probably spent 3 times as long with this blank as I have with any of the other acrylic blanks I have gotten from PSI.

I also didn't get the blank in the picture the blank I received was purple and white. It is hard to work with very brittle, but if you do finish it you will be pleased.

This is a very nice looking blank. unfortunately the one I got looks NOTHING like the one pictured. The one I got is purple and white, not purple and blue which is what was ordered. It's a very nice blank, no complaints there, makes for a very nice pen.

This material was just eye popping and stunning. Once turned and sanded, it is simply stunning. Place it in sunlight and it takes on a luster. Leave about a 32nd of an inch or less prior to sanding, as the material tends to chip as opposed to shave. I did a wet sanding. It kept the piece cool and cut down the dust. The price is right on, for once finished, you can easily increase the price times four.

I made the executive pen for my daughter for part of college graduation present. SHE LOVED THE COLOR! She told me that she sometimes just holds the pen and looks at it because it is so pretty! It turned like like my other acrylic materials - no easier - no harder. If you've worked with acrylics before you'll have no issues. I made about 50 or so pens with wood before I tackled acrylic. It takes sharp tools and a light touch!

This blank turned out so well for my very first try that I almost don't want to give it to my girlfriend! at times during the turning it felt that the white portion felt harder than the purple areas, but realized my chisel was getting dull. super smooth to turn, and turned out absolutely stunning!

This blank had a very nice purple color and I thought it would be nice for my daughter, who loves purple. I think it would have made a nice pen if I had been more experienced. All it took was one slip of the gouge and parts of the blank just disentigrated. I will try again but only after I have turned a few more pens. I think it would be nice to see a write up of what materials have what characteristics for beginners.
