Yes, it very brittle, thus it is hard to drill and turn. I shattered one blank, and continued to turn the other end of a standard slimline. I was able to finish it to size, which is about a .030" side wall. It turns out the brass was visible on one side and dirty looking on the other side. Luckily, there are cheap. The returning to Penn State would cost more than the remaining 3 blanks. Live and learn.

This blank is way too brittle to be used. I have shattered two 1. Drilling the hole for the brass tube, and 2. turning the blank. These blanks pit and shatter way too easily. My tools are extremely sharp and I will be returning the remainder of these back to PSI.

Like Eddie I found this blank to be very brittle. I noticed a small crack after drilling and gluing the tube. When I attempted to square the ends with a carbide cutter the whole end shattered off. I have used the cutter on many acrylic blanks and have not had that happen before.

I recently turned one of these on a Designer kit. The color pink is the best I have ever seen. This material does not turn well at all. It seems too brittle, yet too soft. I found it very challenging and will not be doing any more.

Although this makes a beautiful pen, I have found that even with sharp chisels, I often get pit marks where small chunks have been gouged out. As a result, I have to stop turning long before normal and do much more sanding. Maybe someone has found a solution to this that I am unaware of.

I bought 2 of this color for my daughters 8th b-day and both of the pieces shattered. I purchased several acrylic blanks and this was the only one I had a problem with. I don't recommend this blank to anyone.

I have a niece that just loves that pink color. I have made several pens for her and plan to make more in the future. The color is just perfect for what she is using it for (gifts for her business )The material is fairly easy to work and when completed, really shines and is very eyecatching. You must keep your tools sharp and you cannot rush the turning.

I found the material way to soft to turn successfully. ruined two, glued the remaining halves and worked gently to finally get one pen.
