Hard-to-find woodturning blanks. Pack of 10.
Size: 5/8" x 5/8" x 5"L.

Scientific Name:  Dalbergia retusa
      Other Names:  Granadillo, Funera, Nambar, Nicaragua rosewood
      Geographical Origin:  Central America, Mexico
      Density:  62 to 79 lb/ft3
      Specific Gravity:  0.80 to 0.98    

General Characteristics:  a true rosewood whose color varies from yellowish orange, to deep-red, or    reddish brown with prominent  black streaks and some mottling with exposure;  fine texture with grain straight to interlocked; oily texture with low luster; subject to  warpage and checking during the drying process;
      
Workability:  excellent machining properties, such as turning; poor gluing  
      properties due to the presence of natural oils which do, however, facilitate
      good polishing effects;
      Uses:  a very important wood for use in the cutlery trades for knife handles; also
      used in the manufacture of tool handles and musical and scientific instruments,
      due in part to its excellent polishing properties

I have been turning cocobolo for two years and find that customers prefer it to many of my collections of woods.

These are 5" blanks, ready to be cut and drilled. The grain patterns and color are excellent. Finishes well and takes a nice polish. You can't beat Cocobolo for eye poping grain and color.

This a great deal for a great piece of wood. Cocobolo is a beautiful wood and can never go wrong with the outcome. Note- always wear a mask!!

After using the cocobolo to make numerous pens and pencils I have to say that it is really a beautiful wood to work with. It turns easily and polishes up up just as easily. It is my most popular seller.
