Using the keyless chuckI purchased the chuck for use with the blank drilling chuck. Not needing a key for tightening was a definite plus. I've used the drill chuck for a few weeks now and find it easy to use and handy. Changing drill bits is quick and painless and the bits are held firmly in the chuck with no loosening. The only quibble I have is that the Morse taper seems a little long. I have a Delta midi-lathe and have to crank out the tailstock about a half inch before the chuck will seat properly. This does not detract from the chuck's usefulness and using the lathe for drilling blanks is still much easier with the chuck. Definitely a product I can recommend for pen turners.

Recent PurcahsesEverything I have ordered from PSI has been top value for the money. Only complaint is shipping charge. Once in a while free shipping would be appreciated.

Keyless 1/2The chuck came mounted onto the #2 Morse taper and well lubricated so there was no chance of rust. Fit and finish of the chuck is very good. Knurling is comfortable and useful both on the body and adjusting sleeve. The two have sufficient space between them to allow a proper grip. The Morse taper was clean and mated in the tailstock of my lathe very well. It is also tapped for a drawbar. During use the chuck gripped both small wire diameter bits and large diameter bits very well. Center-to-center was spot on with a 3/8" center drill. There was no slippage of the bit or the MT while boring 3" deep holes into lignum vitae. Overall, a quality item that isn't a one-trick pony at the best price I could find at the time.

Quality Keyless ChuckI was impressed with the quality of this chuck. I could get by without my drill press for most applications. I like to salvage exotic wood pieces and with the irregular shape of the pieces after re sawing, drilling the pieces out on the lathe is the only way to go. The price was better than some competitors.
