While the trimmer was nice for the smaller kits it could be larger for the Majestic kit which uses larger tubes. Overall though it's a nice little tool to use if the sander requires travel to your local wood shop.

I've been turning pens for a few years now and have always struggled to get the ends exactly flush and clean. After using the barrel trimmer for the first time not only did it look fantastic, but also the time to get the end flush was minimal. I just inserted the trimmer into a hand drill and was able to hold the blank while I trimmed the end with no problem because the tube on the inside of my blank kept it flush--I didn't need to load it into my drill press and clamps like I thought I would have to. Nice tool and worth the investment.

This cutter makes quick work of cleaning out the bore of the pen tube and squaring the ends. It speeds up the gluing process as I don't worry about getting epoxy in the tube as the cutter clears out whatever ended up inside. The carbide cutter should remain sharp forever if stored safely.

10 times better than the HSS pen mill I had been using. Makes squaring ends simple, accurate and fast.

I have used the old 4 blade trimmers for years. I bought one of your new carbide trimmer. It is very fast, but rough because there are only two blades. There is a lot of vibration. Need to add one or two more blades. Cuts fast, but vibrates too much. Hard to use on soft woods such as spalted wood. Would be excellent with additional blades.

Works very well. Something useful. I don't have a lot of tools, this tool fits right into my hand drill. All I do is install and let her rip. I recommend this tool for those who haven't got some sort of facing device.

This carbide cutter will make your barrel-trimming a lot easier. It works with all the adapters that come with the steel cutter. Sharp right out of the box, and still sharp, after over 60 pens. This is much better than the steel cutter, which I had to sharpen before I trimmed the first barrel. I highly recommend this Carbide Cutter.

This trimmer is a real time saver. It is much easier than a sander.

Excellent trimmer. I should have gone with carbide in the beginning.
