I already had a lathe and this set was perfect. It contains all of the essentials and is priced lower than other starter sets. I also really like the pre-drilled pen blanks. They simplified the whole process and helped me make a nice first pen.

The kit contains quality items. Following the instructions included with the kit will enable the novice turner to produce beautiful pens and pencils. For beginning pen makers, this basic pen making starter set is highly recommended!! Please be sure to request the free DVD that demonstrates the actual making of the pens.
