Does what it is supposed toNot a necessary product, but very convenient. I just keep these right with my mandrel, so they are always right there. There are also nice because they are so small, you don't have to worry about over tightening the mandrel. One gripe, the paint on the inside of the wrench makes the span too small, but a little work with a file takes care of it easily.

7/8 wrenchesInexpensive. Does the job that it's designed to do. Stick them to your lathe with a super magnet and they are always at hand without a search

ConvenienceThese wrenches are totally unnecessary, but I'm glad I bought them. I can use two pair of pliers, or two wrenches from my wrench supply to do the same thing. But that means finding them. The light weight and thin "spanners" are in the same drawer where I keep all my mandrel related parts, as well as my partially prepared blanks, tubes, project parts, etc. I can go from turning a large bowl on a chuck to shifting to pens (when the wife needs a gift for someone) without looking for wrenches. The convenience is worth the few bucks - and the same applies to PSI, or other makers, chucks. Get the flat spanner wrenches that fit the device and keep them together with the device.

Not bad for a wrench!I bought this set after struggling with adjustable wrenches, and after pricing Sears 7/8 " open end wrenches. ($16.95 for ONE???) I do a lot of different sized pen kits, and these are the best tool and the best value to adjust the Maxi-Mandrel to each pen kit. With a really small pen kit, using bushings to take up the space is doable, but I found the mandrel wobbles less if you choke up on the barrels. The only problem that a swift touch with a piece of sandpaper cured was the paint on the wrenches made them a bit tight on the mandrel. I just touched up the inside faces of the wrenches and that took care of it. No more struggles! I just wish I had bought these when I bought the darned mandrel.

Open End WrenchesThe wrenches are great. I always have a quick and safe way to adjust the mandrel. Quality is outstanding.

Indespensible time/space savers! These little guys are golden - easy to store close by the lathe without being obtrusive, real time savers. A must-have for Collet style mandrels. Good value for the money.

lathe wrenchDoes the job as intended! Good quality craftsmanship!

Mandrel WrenchesGreat tools that make changing the mandrel a breeze.

Mandrel WrenchesI should of bought these a long time ago. The ease of just grabbing the right size wrenches to adjust the mandrel is worth every penny. The price is hard to beat.
