This set of bushings is a must for making the 50 caliber machine gun bullet cartridge pen. The size of the bushings are the correct size, and by taking the blank down to just a little oversize of the bushings, then sanding and polishing the blank, you will have the correct size and shape for your pen.

Burr on the inside of the smaller bushing had to be cut out before it would slide all the way on the mandrel. The smaller mandrel is slightly oversize on the outside diameter. Allow a little extra woon on the small end of your turning.

After turning a couple of these 50 cal pens using calipers with many start and stop to measure I purchased the bushing set. Sure saved a lot of time and less chance to under size the cut.

I made this pen for a gift and didn't have much familiarity with the size of the real cartridge. The bushings made it possible to turn the part quickly down to the proper dimension without having to use a caliper to check for sizing.
