Benjamin's Best 1 1/2 Scraper

I have used the scraper on a couple of bowls. It really does a nice job. The tool took an edge easily and has enough weight so it handles well. I like to use the scraper for finishing on the inside of a bowl for a real smooth finish. This scraper does a nice job and was not expensive for it's size. I will make the bevel more angled to make sure the bevel does not rub on smaller diameter turnings. The only thing I dont like about this tool and many of the turning tools is that the handles are not long enough for me.

An incredible pleasure for interior bowl finishing

I recently bought one of the high priced brands' 1-1/2" square scrapers and after seeing what an improvenemt the larger, thicker -- and therefore heavier duty -- tool made, I started hungering for a similar curved scraper. Not only is this scraper less than 1/3 the price of the English- and American-made brands similar tools, it's exactly the same quality metal and the same thickness as well. The stability of the very heavy scraper allows getting a much smoother finish on bowls than thinner tools allow, and the extra width over even 1" scrapers is an added benefit. If I was forced to voice a criticism of this, it would be the same as for almost all of PSI's turning tools, that the handle is thinner and lighter than I really prefer. But since the most important part of a turning tool is the metal in the front, this is so minor a complaint that I can't even call it a 4-star tool. It definitely deserves a 5-star rating!

great scraper!

Really! After months upon months of working with inadequate tools I finally bought this scraper and wow was I surprised! This scraper held an edge for a long time and I could get it to throw paper thin shavings across the room! Very happy with this tool and will be buying more of the same!

1.5 in round scraper

This is a great scraper. It is much heavier and more solid than other scrapers I own. I would definitely recommend this tool especially for the price.

Round nose scraper

This scraper, like other Benjamin Best scrapers is an outstanding value. The quality of the steel, and thickness of the steel is comparable to other brands costing two or three times as much.
