This one did not last me as long as the $9 one I got from harbor frieght. I was impressed by the reviews but this is not all that good. Maybe if I did not work with exotic hardwood it might work better. Don't waste your money

This is the perfect tool to steady a spindle when turning decorative finials. Works much better than turning between centers because after you chuck the headstock end, you can chuck the tailstock end and hold it steady with no compression, or even with a little bit of stretch. This will prevent breakage or flexing as you thin the finial. The bearing is good -- minimal friction -- so the process is smooth and steady.

Heavy duty, smooth running, accurate tailstock drill chuck. A solid, high quality chuck - can't do without it.

I use this for keeping tension on 'VERY' slender finials.
