Good tools, could afford more tools.

"Bigger name" tools are quite expensive but these great performing, moderately priced chisels, allowed me to buy more chisels. They turn and sharpen well, seem balanced in my hands and look great doing it. The blades come covered in a protective coating and the sharper ends have rubber caps. The box they come in can be used to carry them or you can remove the lid and devise a way to support the box at an angle to provide easy access at the lathe.

Lathe Chisel Set

These are awesome! My husband and I were both taking a turning class and shared the tools. They did a great job and we both left the class pleased with the results. We had compared the price with a set from a local craft store and found the Penn State price much more affordable.

Better than expected

This is my first set of wood turning chisels and I was a bit worried about what I would be getting. I have been very happy with this purchase! Everyone said that I would probably have to sharpen the tools before I could use them, but these chisels have been working very nicely right out of the box. I will certainly be purchasing more tools and supplies from PSI!

Best Bang For The Buck!

Benjamin's Best are the best bang for the buck when it comes to lathe chisels. The HSS they use holds a nice edge for a good long time. Handles are comfortable. I can't see spending over $200 for a set of chisels knowing how good these are. Some buy based solely on name, I buy based on a bargain and performance. For $70, you can't go wrong with these chisels.

I have this set and am very pleased with the quality. These are very good tools and stay sharp. They have very heavy or thick blades and good large handles. I have paid more for individual tools of lesser quality. I have ordered a second set for a friend. Oh and they come in a nice box!
