Hollow bowls offer an elegant style and function beyond what can be created with standard bowl turning tools. The challenge of hollowing bowls is to do precision profiling inside the bowl through a small opening in the top.
We've engineered this hollowing set to be a complete system to make your hollowing experiences easy, effective and affordable. PSI worked with a team of bowl turning experts to develop this hollowing set with features and benefits comparable to hollowing systems costing twice as much:
· Curved hollowing blade is flat providing superior tool support while cutting inside the bowl
· The HSS Blade is heavy duty 5/16" thick 6-1/2 long; providing fast and secure turning with minimum vibration.
· Complete system includes blade with handle, 6ea HSS interchangeable cutters, hardened set screw with Allen wrench.
· The 6 cutters handle multiple interior profiling requirements including: Inside walls, inside bottom, neck, inside top and more. Includes 2 sizes of round profiles and 4 special purpose profiles.

I thought it is a great tool,it is stiff and good for large turngings. The inserts seemed dull,but some honing fixed that. I move the inserts to the top of the handle, it worked better and was able to see where I was working in a bowl better. With the insert on the top I have no problems with it getting loose. The chips clear better with it on the top.

This tool works well but I have had a great deal of difficulty keeping the screw tight. I finally had to use locktite to keep the screw from coming loose.

...the included carbide bits are so dull that they tearout even the hardest of woods. There are much better products with similar prices available. If the carbide bits were sharp, this tool would easily get a 4-5 star review.

This tool worked as advertised once the bits were sharpened. No way would they function by just sharpening with a stone across the flat upper surface. I made a sharpening jig out of 3/8" square steel by tapping a screw hole and shaping the end of the jig.
