Get precision gripping and centering of small diameter dowls and tenons.

Ideal for gripping pen mandrels, bottle stoppers and other small projects where a tenon is used for chucking. Easily hand tightens to safely secure collet and workpiece. Pre threaded with 1" x 8tpi headstock thread.

System includes:

1" x 8tpi thread with 3/4" x 16tpi spindle adapter, with collet closing head
5 collets: 1/4", 3/8", 1/2", 5/8" and 3/4"

This collet chuck holds my spinning wheel bobbins perfectly true! I also use a pen mandrel in it which is held very secure. If you need to hold work that fits the common collet sizes this is the chuck for you!

Upon receiving the collet chuck I opened it and looked over the parts. Chuck is well made threads are in good order. The parts fit together good. I screwed it on my machine checked for run out it was less then .0005. Its a good unit for the price. The only thing that I feel is wrong with it is that the Tommy bars are a little to lose in the holes for me, but they do work.

Great system! Great value! Don't waste your money on the MT2 Woodcraft Collet System - I started out with that one - doesn't even compare with the quality and precision.

I mainly use this for drilling pen blanks. I also use the 1/4" collet to hold the pen mandrel. So far I have been very happy with it.

I use the collet chucking system to make Duck & Goose calls. Everything ran true right out of the box,and very easy to change the collets out. If you turn game calls this is the one to use,and you can't beat the price. It comes with 5 collets, but more would be nice.

The collet chuck system worked flawlessly the few times I have used it. Compared to a similar system that is more expensive, I was very pleased with the quality and versatility of the Penn State system. Great product!

I have been using the chuck you can buy at Woodcraft for about 6 months. Never liked it as it has about.005 run out in it. Well, I wish I had bought this chuck a LONG time ago. She turns true, easy to clean, and makes life alot easier. I HIGHLY recommend this chuck to anyone
