Okay... but not for DeltaThis seems like it would work well; unfortunately, the Delta lathe has a well that goes out over the back of the motor making it impossible to attach this close enough to the headstock. This makes it ineffective for pen work. If the plastic gulp has some side-to-side movement it would fix the problem.

magnetic hood for latheNeed a little heaver magnetic holder , other than that works good, seems to catch most of shavings, does move around a bit.

Actually works!I was skeptical, but with a 1.5 hp dust collector, the hood does the job on my pen turning beautifully.

great productHood works wonderfully, Makes for almost no clean up when working on pens and pencils as dust and chips have seemed to vanish. Reduces the dust and most of the chips from larger projects also.

new user of productsThis is a good product for turning pens and bottle stops. It saves alot of cleanup.

Works greatWorks very well indeed, no complaints at all.

clear dust hoodI really liked this item as it greatly reduced the wood chips from my Jet lathe. I am still working on getting a cyclone but just using my shop vac helped a great deal. The flap in the front also lessened the wood chips flying up to my face as I work. I'm sure it will work even better if i had a cyclone. Its fairly easy to use and adjustable using just a few thumb screws. The magnetic attachment device was strong enough to hold it in place during turning. It does require about 3 inch square of flat surface area. Unfortunately, the metal label on my lathe is right where I needed the magnet to stick so I had to work around that.

Clear Dust HoodI like it. This is the best dust collection hood for "small" turning projects that I have used. The hood encloses the job and will suck up almost all dust and shavings that are generated from the turning. That said, it is rather dificult to move and not something you want to do in the middle of a job. It will work beautifully with pens, bottle stoppers, light pulls, small handles, anything that can be enclosed by the hood.

modify the designAfter using the clear dust collector, I would suggest the sides be cut even further in toward the exhaust, so that the shield and the exhaust could be closer to the work. For sanding this item works fine, but when turning the "chips" flying off the work don't make it into the vacuum tube.

Lathe Exhaust HoodI tried other ways of collecting shavings and dust from my midi lathe, before I found this little gem. It is convenient and does a fantastic job!
