Good Chuck at a Good Price

A good strong heavy duty chuck that has easily held everything I have thrown at it. Unlike some of the high dollar competition the capacity of the jaws overlap so there are no annoying gaps in what can be held. I have only one minor complaint which is the provided chuck key has rounded edges on the teeth and will cam out when applying pressure.

Great Buy...

I have used this chuck for turning some large blocks of wood and it has held every one of them tight. The set comes with a variety of jaws making this a useful addition for a wide variety of turning pieces. This is a great value and an awesome chuck.

This chuck has so far exceeded everything I was hoping for. A great deal for the money.

Not a good buy!

Two gripes with this chuck. When you tighten with the wrench, it rides up out of the hole. Not a sign of a well made product. Second, there is no way to lock it to the spindle of the lathe. If you turn/sand in reverse, the chuck could fly off the lathe, causing injury. Even at this price, this is not a good deal for the serious woodturner.

Barracuda 4 chuck

This is the second Barracuda 4 chuck I have purchased. I need a heavy duty chuck for the type of work I do (banjos)and this unit consistently delivers.

Stronghold's Competition

Excellent chuck! Smooth action and with the additional jaws I can see competition for Oneway's Sronghold. One distraction was the packaging. Although it came in a wooden box it lacked the storage area my old Barracuda's plastic case offers. Otherwise great product and very glad I purchased it.

The Baracuda4 Chuck is as outstanding chuck system which has extra jaws that will fit just about anything and grip it like a Barracuda. I also have the Barracuda2 to fit a 1" spindle and have been very happy with it also. If you are in the market for a very good chuck at a reasonable price you won't beat these chucks.

Barracuda 4

The fit and finish of this chuck is excellent. I have been using the "c" series chuck for over a year and love it, so when I compared the Barracuda 4 with the Vicmark and Oneway chucks I found it to be a great value. It is very easy to use with one hand and holds the work very well. The chuck key needs to be pushed firmly into the chuck as you tighten or it will dis-engage. Then again, it could be operator error but, all in all a very minor item.

nice Chuck

I like this lathe chuck because it is larger then my old chuck so I can make larger bowls. I use it with the Max jaws so I can do the bottom of the bowls I make.

Barracuda4

I recieved my Barracuda chuck a few weeks ago and have been VERY pleased with it's performance and ease to use. Grips and holds wood very well as it has done well on both dry and green turnings. THANKS, I could not be happier.
