Disappointed

This pen is not designed well at all. I was very disappointed after buying 4 of these pens and finding out they are not as well designed as the others. Spend the extra few dollars to get one of the other pens.

writes poorly

It's a nice looking pen but the nib write VERY poorly. Skips and hard starter when you try to write with it. I noticed that another reviewer had the same problem. I still have another one to make so lets see if I have the same problem with it. But 2 stars for the price.

Not a good choice

I like most of the pen kits from PSI, but this one was a huge disappointment. After gluing up 5 sets of blanks I made the first pen and assembled it per the instuctions. I could not get the cap to close on the tip nor on the post. There's a 3/16" gap on both. It's very bad engineering. A big waste of money.

Not really happy with it

Up to purchasing this model, I was 100% happy with all pen kits here, but all I had was problems with the parts not fitting snug (ie: the cap posting) to the nibs not writing well. I would recommend the Classic over this model.

Excellent

Made mine out of Olivewood and everyone loves it. Easy to turn and assemble. Only downside is I'm not fond of the raw end on the cap. Directions were easy to follow. Writes fantastic. Will definitely be ordering more.

Good fountain pen for the money

I like the pen and will buy more. I did not care for the instructions, they could be more clear. Also you might crack the wood as I did cutting the notch using a sharp blade, using a small file worked better for me. Once the pen is made I seems to be a good quality pen and will add it to my inventory.

Just a good solid pen

When asked for a good solid pen, I chose this one and the customer was so happy, he got me more orders from friends. Thanks for a great product and the quick shipping.

Decent fountain pen, but not my favorite

This pen was unique in that you need to cut a small groove into the finished material. If you are not set up to notch the wood out, it will be difficult to get a clean surface. Not my favorite pen at this point. There ought to be a better way to accomodate the clip.

Substantial Fountain Pen

This is a very nice fountain pen for the money - easy to turn and the components are good quality. Both the fountain pen and the roller ball have high-end pen looks and even a good balance. Aside from the raw end, a very nice kit.
