Purple Stabilized Maple Burl
Make beautiful turned pens. Stabilizing is a process that impregnates the wood or burl with colored resins and renders it into an ideal turning blank. Note: the colors of maple burl may vary.

Stabilized wood has been processed with a resin material.This process can be useful to strengthen punky areas, and it will limit expansion and shrinkage due to changes in humidity and help it resist rot. The stabilizing process does not fill voids.

Stabilized blanks can be worked on a lathe, using standard woodworking techniques and tooling with light touches.
