1lb. Stabilized Pen Blank Grab Bag

Description

We have assembled this fantastic assortment of stabilized pen blanks at a bargain basement price! Each 1-pound bag includes 14-16 stabilized offcut pen blanks to make 12-16 single tube pens. The number of blanks will depend on how much stabilization fluid each pen blank soaked up! The blanks are 3/4 in. diameter or more and at least 2-1/2 in. in length. The assortment include at least 4 colors and may be single dyed, double dyed or remain clear. Species include but are not limited to; Maple Burl, Buckeye Burl, Tiger Oak, Hackberry, Spalted Maple and Spalted Alder. No two bags are the same!

Stabilized wood has been processed with a resin material.This process can be useful to strengthen punky areas, and it will limit expansion and shrinkage due to changes in humidity and help it resist rot. The stabilizing process does not fill voids.

Stabilized blanks can be worked on a lathe, using standard woodworking techniques and tooling with light touches.
