      Description

      This blank was hand picked by Barry from uniquely spalted logs to showcase the beauty and unusual figure of Tiger Oak. Barry had this blank expertly cut, then dyed with vibrant colors and finally stabilized for maximum hardness and shine when turned and finished.

      Stabilized wood has been processed with a resin material.This process can be useful to strengthen punky areas, and it will limit expansion and shrinkage due to changes in humidity and help it resist rot. The stabilizing process does not fill voids.

      Stabilized blanks can be worked on a lathe, using standard woodworking techniques and tooling with light touches.
