How to Pour a Resin Handle No Lathe Can Turn
Barry Gross pours a resin handle that comes out of the mold already shaped, then turns it into a pizza cutter handle. Watch how he:
- Mixes three colors of resin, then pours them into a mold prepared with release spray
- Squares the end in the jig and drills the hole straight on the drill press
- Glues in a threaded insert and mounts the handle on the kit with a decor ring
The colors meet inside the handle as it sets, so you get patterns a lathe can't give you.
You'll need a drill press and a disc sander. A pressure pot is recommended with Alumilite resins.
