Made to fit ML9664X 5in. Benchtop Disc Sander. You just slide your blank along the rod into the rotating disc to square your blank. Also works with PKTRIMSET Sleeves. Cross slide is 12mm wide. Will not magically change size to fit other tools/brands.

Easily Modified to Fit Your Sanding System

This product is designed for a specific PSI sanding disc system BUT it is easily modified to fit your own sanding system. The channel crossbar can be replaced with appropriate size bar to fit your miter channel. In my case I purchased an inexpensive 3/4" wide piece of aluminum bar at local home store to match up with my 3/4" miter slot. I then positioned the cross bar to get proper alignment with my sanding disc, drilled and tapped a couple of new holes, and viola, a perfect fit. I had made my own jig a few years ago out of scraps of plywood, but it did not stand the test of time. This is well made, and with the appropriate modifications will solve your issue for all of the hard to square up pen tubes/blanks. In my case, this is the platform attachment and sending disc on the outbound side of my lathe.

Modifications to use with Ricon Sander

Probably would not have purchased if I had read the reviews first. After receiving the product and then reading the reviews, I knew I needed to modify to use with Ricon sander. Removed small guide bar. Added 3/4" guide farther back to get bar closer to sanding disk. I use barrel trimmer sleeves to support blanks with larger tubes. Would not have been able to sand blanks for aroma therapy necklaces without mods. Works great now. PSI was out of PKSQUARE when I ordered this one. I'm pleased with the product. I would recommend this product if you are not afraid to make modifications to meet your application needs. Cecil

Just got this the other day, was going to use it with my Rikon 6" disc sander (the one that has the 1x30" belt sander). Not only is the miter bar on the bottom much smaller than a standard miter slot, but the thumbscrews that hold everything together allow everything to flex slightly because they don't tighten enough. The screws also come loose easily, even when I have barely used the thing (or rather attempted to use it for two blanks).
And even if it wasn't so ill-fitting and wobbly as to be useless, it sits back a bit too far to use very effectively with my sander. When I attempted to use it, the sleeve kept traveling out of the tube. If I didn't suspect returning it would be more trouble than it is worth, I would send it back. I am just glad that the sleeve set was sold out, so I only ordered one sleeve and saved myself from wasting even more money.

I took a risk buying this for my Harbor Freight Central Machinery 4 in. x 36 in. Belt/6 in. Disc Sander, which it DOES NOT fit. I will be keeping this because I can make my own miter bar for it to work, however there is one other issue I have. This thing is screwed down with 4 screws, these 4 separate screws can become loose and this mess with your blanks being square. My advice is that you spend a few seconds before sanding your blanks to check that it's square first. That is all.
