First one received was the wrong part but issue was quickly resolved and a replacement shipped out with return instructions. I used it the first night I received it and after putting a drop of lock tight on the setscrew it's working great! Two more tonight and I am well on my way to getting Christmas presents done for family.

The Utility grip chuck fits and turns true on my shopsmith. The adapter fits the spindle on the shopsmith so well that it's a little hard to pull off. But that isn't a problem.

The spindle adapter is almost as good as the customer service.

Here's a product that is built with a tolerance capable of producing the little pop when you remove it. The only way you can get the pop is to have extremely close tolerances and this little adapter redefines close tolerance. If you have a ShopSmith, then you need one of these. If you need service with a smile, then deal with this company. No question about it, I will do business with these folks at every opportunity. Thanks for a great product and really great service. Placed the order on a Tues and received it on Friday, now that's FAST....

Great Ideas (or device) – It allows you to use all the standard 1X8 lathe accessories, (faceplates , chucks, etc) on your Shopsmith – you no longer need to buy the special (and more costly) items just for the Shopsmith. Also if you have two lathes (as I do) you can share the items between them, no longer need to have two of each of the accessories. I love it; saved me tons of money.

Shopsmith Spindle adapter top notch

This is a very solid and well made adapter. I bought this and a 1X8 pen mandrel that I can now move between my shopsmith and my turncrafter pro. This also allows me to share my chuck between the two lathes. A+++ overall.

Shopsmith spindle adapter

A well machined accessory that does what it is supposed to do. Very reasonably priced, especially considering Shopsmith's penchant for overpricing their items. It's a good thing that this is made by a third party vendor!

Heavy Duty adapter

I use my Shopsmith lathe and this adapter is the cats meow. I can't believe how well it's built. An adapter from Shopsmith would never be this well built. It fits perfectly and the finish is good and crisp. It runs true and fits my chuck for a nice true rotation. Can't ask for anything more.

Adaptor for Shopsmith

This piece is extremely well machined, gives it a "pop gun" fit like that pop sound of a finger in your cheek. Not too tight, just right. Pricing is good & with that accuracy I will not hesitate to buy adaptors for my non Shopsmith regular lathes and scroll chucks.
