Designer sizing sleeve

Having done a few designer series pens and reading about the trouble with the tenon others have had, this item will solve all your problems, works like a charm. Nothing could be easier, just wish I had known about it from the start This is one item a pen maker should have and the price is right....

Good idea but????

Works nicely until the allen screw head is round over and the the sleeve will not move. I got the ring off and I use a spare ring out of a pen kit like before!

Cheap allen screw

I bought this bushing and the first time I used it the allen screw it would not work. Other that that I liked it ok.

Designer bushing sleeve

Very helpful in turning the tenon on a 7mm Euro Designer pen. The allen screw secures the sleeve in place to turn the upper barrel, move it back, lock it down and turn the tenon. Simple , functional, reasonably priced.

pen kit sizing sleeve

The sizing sleeve makes it a lot easier to make the designer pens. The only complaint is that the sizing sleeve collar is a bit smaller than the designer pen band.

It worked but could have used instructions.

I figure it out. For the inner sleeve put the larger end towards the tip of the pen (right). For outer sleeve put the set screw to the left. Before putting on the mandrel move the outer sleeve flush to the inner sleeve on the left side. Machine pen then move to outer sleeve to the right out of the way.

terrible workmanship

To say that this bushing is poorly tooled would be a huge understatment. It took me 20 minutes to get the nibs knocked off to where the 2 pieces would even fit together. I was able to complete only 4 pens before the head on the set screw stripped out locking the parts in place rendering the bushing useless. If you order this bushing I'd suggest using duct tape to hold it in place rather than the cheap set screw. I rated this part as a one star only because zero stars was not an option.

could be better

I thought I'd try this in spite of it being over priced. Should have saved my money. the center piece that the sleeve is on is way too long. Had to extend my mandrel to use it. The longer mandrel allows more tool chatter. Also the allen wrench that came with mine was too small or something because it rounded out the set screw the first time I used it. Overall I was very disappointed with it.
