HI-GLOSS PROJECT FINISH 11/04/2007 - by Fred isdepski from Coventry, RI US
I have used this finish for the last several years. In making bottle stoppers, I find it to be a non-replaceable perfect finish. This is a hard very durable finish, that does not wear off, or affected by alcohol. ( that's important with bottle stoppers.) I use it on the stoppers as opposed to finishing on the Lathe. Its usage my me is not limited only to Bottle Stoppers, there are many, many projects I use it for. Far too many for a listing.

Friction polishes which you would use on a Lathe, are mostly "Shellac Based". Therefore, you shouldn't use them on bottle stoppers.

When the can of finish is new, I dip the stoppers and let the excess drip off, then set them aside to dry. The drying time is not very long, usually about two hours. The advertised thirty minute drying time would work if I used thinner coats. When dipping a bottle stopper, I use a drying board, which allows me to hold the stopper without the finish dripping onto a stopper cone.

My customers rave about the resulting finish.

I find that this product lasts for a very long time, and only have good things to say about it.
