I wanted to learn how to make pen kits and did not want to invest to much yet for a midi lathe. So I purchased this drill press lathe and it was wonderful. I learned a lot and soon I was confident to purchase a real lathe. Now this is my best and favorite hobby.

I purchased this to learn pen turning. It's a perfect tool to learn with. I've turned several pens on it and each time I get a little better. Once I get the hand of turning pens I'll purchase a lathe. Until then, this drill press attachment will work just fine for my needs. It was a little hard to get it centered perfect, but with a some practice I got the hang of it. Great price if you want to start learning to turn pens.

My first experience was that it was just to hard to fit it on the drill so it would not jump off. I'll take a lathe anytime..

I am new to making pens. Did not want to invest a lot to see if I liked it. The drill press lathe worked fine. I've made three pens now, each looking better than the last. Great for small projects like turning pens.
