For some reason, the stabilized blanks seem to be brittle and tend to like to explode on me. In this case, I was able to salvage it and use it for a comfort pen. I am a beginner, so it may be operator error.....

I used the blank to make a Majestic Jr. pen kit, VERY pretty. Everything was perfect but the larger blank for the cap split. I was able to glue it back together and it turned out great. The contrast between the light blue and the light brown wood make it extremely pretty, a must try!

The blank was a dark blue on the outside. I made a penlight which is very attractive but there is very little blue. The predominant colors are gray and a rusty gold. Some other colors as well in the burl including a light blue. Looks elegant but I did want blue.
