I made a pencil today with one of these blanks using the slimline pencil kit. I was able to shape it easily (I'm a beginner) and I was very satisfied with the finished look. However, I wish the five blanks that came in the package matched better for making pen/pencil pairs. If it wasn't for that, I would have given 5 stars.

Used the rosewood with the classic fountain pen and it was an outstanding look. Most requested pen/blank combination.
