The pens that I cut using this wood came out looking great. This wood is a little harder to use because of the diagonal cut, there is more opportunity for tear outs. Need to make sure the tools are sharp.

This wood produced great looking graining on the Designer pen/pcl set I used it for. You will want to use a sharp chisel and you need to take a little extra care in sanding. I sand 150, 220, 320, 400 and 600 grit... make sure you don't skip a grit, remember to stop the lathe and sand the length of the barrels between grits, and give a little extra time on the final two grits. I finished with EEE ultra shine followed by Shellawax.
