Buck Eye Burl is from the Northeast USA and has an intense spalted texture. 1 piece per package. Blank size: 3/4" x 3/4" x 5-1/2". Stabilizing is a process that impregnantes the wood or burl with resins and renders it into an ideal / plastic like turning blank. The finished turned blanks has a vibrant grain and a surface with a brilliant and durable shine.

My blank looked nothing like the picture it had basicaly no brown to it! It consisted of grey and thats all! I wont be ordering another one of these!

This is really an eye catcher. Everyone wants to know what it is, and exclaims how unique it is. Sells itself when used on the high end pens.

Not what I expected!

The one I got was almost like grey ashes with a little bit of wood glued together. It chipped and cracked very easily. It certainly looked nothing like the picture! I got a stabilized chestnut burl blank at the same time and was disappointed with that also. I've turned the wood and acrylic blanks with no problem so it wasn't because of inexperience and definitely not because of not using sharp tools.
