Olivewood

This was my first try with olivewood. It was easy to drill and to turn. I didn't have any wrecks while using the blanks. However, the finish was not as smooth as other woods I have used. The appearance was good enough but not outstanding.

Wet wood

The Olive wood that I received was waxed and not dry when I turned it for a pen. The wood must be dry for the pen to not crack as it dries out. The moisture was about 25% and that is not usable for a pen. I have removed the was and hope it does not split when drying, otherwise it would never dry out.
