It is harder to work with. I use my Ci2 mini rougher carbide is a must with this wood. Take you time and ever piece came out great. I will order more for sure.

I am a newbie to pen turning, but I had a number of problems with blow outs on smaller pens (slimline) with these blanks. They were just harder to work with then I expected. Of the 6, I only got 3 good pens out of them. They did seem to work fine on the larger pens (Apollo and Olympian)
