I found this blank to be of very poor quality. Represented as a double dyed blank, the dye hardly penetrated the wood, and what little did was not representative of the advertised color- in this case red, of which less than 20% of the blank was actually red, or even black for that matter. I have found similar poor quality in PSI dyed blanks. I would not recommend them, particularly at these prices. Very disappointing.

When the wood is properly dyed and the red/black runs through the grain, it makes one of the nicest pens. Unfortunately, about half of the blanks I get are only partially dyed and the final product is not as nice.

This is a good blank to work with. You just have to hope you get the color closest to the picture. Mine turned out a real light red to almost pink.
