5 out of 55 out of 55 out of 55 out of 55 out of 5 Great blank but very little black

From the looks of the blank when I received it, the piece had a good mix of gold and black. But as I turned it down, only a little black dye had made its way deeper inside. I paired this up with a Classic Elite gunmetal fountain pen kit and it Really looks great. The kit itself is mostly dark gunmetal trim with gold accents, which was the opposite of how the wood turned out so it worked out nicely. That said, I'm not sure what the dyeing process is, but from my experience compared to other reviews here the amount of either of the dyes is a craps shoot. I love it though and will be buying more.

Maybe i received the wrong blank, but the one i have doesn't have anything even remotely resembling gold anywhere in it, or any other color for that matter, at best you could call it grey and black. If i had it to do over, i would not buy this blank. I gave it 2 stars just because it arrived quick and wasn't split or broken.

This was my first experience with Stabilized Spalted Box Elder. I discovered drilling the blank required great caution and a very sharp drill bit. The material is excellent once mounted on the lathe and the results are phenominal after the finish is applied. I created 2 Gatsbys with my first blank and everyone raves about the pens

This will sell your pens. It is very good, very easy to turn and drill. I will be buying more of it.
