disappointedHaving worked with bloodwood in the past and seen the rich color on line, was very disappointed when I opened a Bloodwook item wx06-1 and found it pink more like the color of tulipwood. Will find another source for Bloodwood next time

Bloodwood PensI have made several pens with these bloodwood blanks so far and I have none to show for myself as everyone has been given away. Because of the fine look this material makes, everyone who sees them wants one. I am in the process of making several more of these bloodwood pens to fulfil the desires of the rest of my friends and family that has expressed their desire to own one. These pens are all made from the 24k gold pen kits which realy sets them off against the vibrant natural rea of the bloodwood. In conjuntion with the ballpoint pens I have also made the eversharp pens to go with the ballpoints. This makes a great looking set as a gift, and maybe I will finaly get a set for myself.

Excellent woodThe tight grain on this wood finishes to an almost acrylic like shine with almost no need for a polish. This is the hardest wood that I've used so far and I was very pleased with the result.

Looks GreatThis wood looks great but is very brittle. Time must be taken to make a flawless pen. Looks very good though.

Looks GoodLooks good, but so far everyone has busted out on me.

Beautiful Deep Red WoodThis has become one of my three most favorite woods (along with Purpleheart and Cherry Burl). Deep red and iridescent, this is a very beautiful wood. I use this in larger form to make bottle stoppers that look like Washington Delicious apples (complete w/stem!). I finish with Behlen's Woodturners Finish and buff with my Beale buffing system. Fantastic!
