Purpleheart is one of the exotics that is available not only as pen blanks, but as fairly large bowl blanks and lumber. The wood is very hard and is easy to turn. This is my most popular wood to sell. I usually finish it with Behlen's Woodturners Finish and buff with my 3 wheel system. The liquid finish and buffing produces a finish with a 3D effect.
