This muffler reduced the noise level from 90db to 80db that is 1/2 of what it was just as advertised. Perceptions of Increases in Decibel Level Imperceptible Change 1dB Barely Perceptible Change 3dB Clearly Noticeable Change 5dB "About Twice as Loud 10dB" About Four Times as Loud 20dB

The muffler worked as expected. The cyclone is still loud, but I no longer feel compelled to wear my hearing protection just because it turned it on. I should have purchased it when I got the cyclone. No measurable effect on air flow.
