Dust Collection, Now I know what that isFor 16 yrs I've had bag type dust collection and wasn't aware how inferior this was. This new cyclone Tempest 21/2 hp is so effective, their isn't anyway to compare the two systems. I suffer no longer.

Awesome piece of equipment! After years of living with a too-small dust collector in my shop, I finally invested in a Tempest Cyclone as part of an overall remodeling. I had PSI do the duct layout, and ran the entire system in hard metal duct pipe to replace the cheap plastic pipe I had used before. The results were even better than I expected. The collector has an incredible amount of power, and it easily handles even big dust producers like my table saw, planer, and drum sander with ease. I also built two floor sweeps out of MDF as part of the system - something my old collector was too wimpy to handle - and they also work like a charm. It actually makes sweeping the floor fun! Be forewarned that this is a big, heavy collector. The instructions that come with it are pretty good, and assembly wasn't too difficult, although I did get the support arms installed wrong the first time and had to unbolt and reset them (that part of the instructions was a little confusing). The other part that I found a little vague was how to mount the entire unit to the wall. I ended up building a 2x4 frame that I bolted to the studs, then covered it with 3/4 plywood, so I had lots of support to bolt the unit to. You DEFINITELY will need help getting it all lifted into place. My shop is considerably cleaner now, and the system works wonderfully. Highly recommended!!!

Great Piece of EquipmentJust a note to let you know that I fired the system up yesterday. I have not sealed the seams etc. yet because I want to make sure everything is in the correct place. This is a truly great piece of equipment. It went together well and I can't believe how well it works. I planed my first board today and there was no dust anywhere in the shop. The noise level is really decent too. The sweep box works so good. Thanks.
