This has everything to get you started at turning pens and pencils, etc. A complete package from top to bottom including the instructional dvd . Very simple set-up and assembly I would recommend to anyone interested in getting into the pen/pencil turning program.

The lathe worked fantastic until the variable speed switch malfuntioned. Currently, after three weeks I am still waiting on a replacement switch. The lathe itself is very stable and with the duplicator attached, it becomes a very productive tool.

Lathe is Excellent ! The starter set is very good but you might want some other types of wood. Can only make so many rosewood pens and pencils. Over all superb and it does give you some repetative work to practice on. Nothing but praise.

I have enjoyed this tool from day one. Only problem is I can't control myself from running & buying more pen kits and lathe accessories. I have really enjoyed exploring woodturning. I would recommend looking at getting the self centering vise, and a chuck to go along with the lathe. After I watched a live demo and viewed a few videos I had to have a chuck. It makes the lathe so very versitile.
