I was impressed with how solid this little lathe is. It runs smoothly and without any problems. The tailstock meets up extactly with the headstock, so no setup was required. The only thing I changed on the lathe was the tool rest. And I ended up using it more than the replacement I bought. I use it on a ship as something to do after work and it is great.

I have not used a lathe since 1975. My dad received this lathe as a present with all the supplies to make pens. Spent last weekend showing me how to use it and used my time to turn some of the egg kolidoscopes... and even turned a pen or two. Very nice unit. Very easy to operate.

I have never turned pens, baseball bats, or bowls in my life. I have just started looking at wood turning items for the past few months and this mini lathe seems to be the best bang for your buck. With a 1/2 HP motor and only is $179.95, it seems like a must buy. This lathe is big enough for small jobs, but doesn't take up much space.

An outstanding value for any level Midi turner. Frame and Bed are heavy, no vibration. Headstock spins very true. It is essentially the Delta LA-200 at marked savings. Adding the bed extension turns baseball bats very well. If you want to start turning, this is the best place to start.
