This seems to be a fine little lathe for pen turning which will be my major use of it. It could use more power, but you don't need a lot of power to turn pens and at over $100 less than the other pen lathes I considered, this is a bargain. It's heavy enough to be stable yet light enough to store out of the way when not in use and it is variable speed to boot.

Compared to some of the other lathes PSI has to offer, this lathe lacks some of the "chromed" wheels but has no major elements not included. This lathe is very sturdy, works well on pen turnings and other small projects, and was very affordable. The only difficulty I ran into was the exclusion of a hand-turning wheel on the left side, but it is not completely nessesary. Good small lathe, good small price.

Nice mini lathe. Rock steady, lined up nice. The screws that hold the hand wheel in place were not set so it wouldn't tighten up on wood, had to reset them. Other than that, this is a great deal.
