Nice little unit, over allI also had the problem William spoke of; one of the name plates fell off while taking it out of the box; the one showing the belt positions for various speeds. I also think they could design something a little more solid for anchoring the tailstock. And the stem on the lamp gets lazy sometimes and wants to lay down. It really is very quiet and smooth, though. I got mine before this last price jump, which I thought was a fair price. I think I'll have a lot of fun with this.

Turncrafter Commander 10Overall, performance is very good. I had been making pens on a converted metal lathe and really appreciate how much easier everything is on a wood lathe. The machine runs quietly and smoothly. I would probably give it another star when I get used to belt changing for various speeds.

Excellent lathe!Quality and operation of the lathe is outstanding! Very pleased. My only negative criticism is that the two name plates fell off the lathe as soon as I took it out of the box! One of them shows the speed/belt settings and is supposed to keep the dust off the belt drive connection.
