I was skeptical about getting this sander thinking that sanding by hand was better. I finally decided to get it and I am glad I did. The difference in sanding is remarkable. There are virtually no streaks on the wood from final sanding. Changing the pads is simple and the angle of the tool can be adjusted for use on any project. Excellent piece of equipment.

Not much of a learning curve, just need to keep it spinning in a direction that keeps the screw tight. Gets the job done and helps eliminated sanding marks. The pads seem much better made than the ones primarily used for an electric drill. Glad I got it.

This tool has a lot of nice features: solidly built, cushioned handle, large wing nut for adjusting the angle. It does take some practice to learn how to hold the sander so the disk turns freely. Even when using the smaller 2" sander disk, you will need at least a 3 1/4" opening (and preferably more) when setting it at 90 degrees. For larger projects this should work fine, but for smaller bowls the tool can only be used for outside sanding. Also, since the overall length is slightly greater than 8", there is not a lot of handle length for larger projects.

The sander meets PSIs usual standard of quality, but it has the limitation of being effectively uni-directional in its spin. I have found this to be a problem when dealing with complex curves. I am pleased that I bought it and would recommend it, but with the caveat that the functionality isn't quite what one might want. The problem arises because of the screw on mount of the disk pad to the shaft. If one catches the "trailing edge" on a curve the spin reverses (obviously) and the disk pad unscrews. I've had it fly into space when I've inadvertantly gotten the reverse spin. Were I to redesign the product I'd make the mount some form of "snap in", then one could work with the more convenient side of the tool for the particular application. Alternatively the pads could have the axle permanently mounted - that would raise the price, but I think it would be worth it. In fact were PSI to offer extra shafts I'd buy them and super glue them into the pads. Other than the above it is a well designed and well made product. Jon

The Adjustable Angle Sanding System comes with a solid and comfortable wood handle covered with a form guard. The articulated head well-machined steel. The 2-each 2" and 3" pads are well designed. The set comes with 4 mandrels, 2 fit the handle and 2 appear to be for a drill. I checked the size of the screw thread on the mandrels and found a bolt the same size. After removing the head, the bolt made an adequate mandrel which fits the 1/4" chuck on my flexible shaft. I used the kit both unpowered and powered on the 2 8" Bowls I had turned (Ash and Birch). The pad fit well in each bowl and the hook & loop disc were easy to change. An excellent system!

Heft of the handle is good and easy to adjust. Could have been a couple inches longer. Like the pad for easy grip. The foam heads stay in one piece longer that the white ones available seperately. Does a good job on uneven surfaces. Have only tried one size, but I do like the capability to change sizes with same tool. Priced much lower than comparable systems. Have not as yet tried paper that comes with set. I prefer the green wave paper.

Very useful sander and it comes with wide variety of sanding grits. The one and two inch sanding heads make it very versatile

I haven't had a chance to use this tool much but the small project I did try it on it seems to be a useful tool.
